Christopher and Isabell’s Castle

Perhaps, in the not too distant future, LEGO will decide that the Castle line needs to return to its origins, without rare science fiction mixes and without creatures taken from the mix of mythologies without much sense. Back to the strong, solid, sober castles ... When they do they can take notes of this fantastic creation by Lukasz Wiktorowicz.

A few years ago I had the good fortune to visit the Loire Valley and its famous castles. One of the best known and for me the most original is the Castle of Chenonceau. Located on the river, it has a very particular elongated shape. When I saw the creation of Aaron Newman I was shocked. It is instantly recognizable and the level of detail is incredible. An authentic beauty.

The magic is in the details

For once I decided to capture in the title of the post all the meaning of this creation. César Soares presents us the room of a wizard. And it doesn't matter how much time you spend looking at the photos, there is always something new to discover, a new detail to admire, a new use for a part, ..., wonderful.

Gothic Church

One of the themes that The LEGO Group has always considered taboo in their designs is that of religion. So if you want to see any type of temple built with LEGO bricks, you must search among the constructions of the AFOLS. Fortunately, these problems of business ethics are less importan for us and we build everything that we want and represents a challenge. The result is that you can find wonderful constructions of temples on the Internet, such as this Gothic Church by David Hensel. A fantastic building, full of details (that door is beautiful), and with an incredible facade work. I'm sure if you touch it with your eyes closed it will look like you're stroking a stone facade.

Green Fish Inn

Since I first saw his work as an editor of HBM, I have been a fan of Cesar Soares' work. His Castle-themed constructions have always seemed magical to me, so to see him return to this theme has given me the perfect opportunity to get him on the blog. His inn in the lake is a delight of design and colors. Changing registers is always good, but sometimes returning to your roots responds to an interior need that is difficult to silence.

Microcastle

And of course, from something very big we turn to something very small. But as you can see from the image, this castle on a micro scale has the same merit as any castle of greater scale, or even more, because the beauty and quality in detail that Dwaling Forkbeard achieves in his creation leaves me amazed.

Nurmes Shipyard

Not all the castles are the same

I’m sure that if someone puts a blank sheet in front of us and asks us to draw a castle, we would all, more or less, draw the same standard construction with its battlements, towers, bridge and moat. But throughout Europe there are many examples of castles that do not follow this structure, since they were built for different purposes or with different budgets. Jaapxaap brings us an example of a different castle. Its magnificent roofs at different heights and the angles of its towers give it an original and very beautiful look.

Classic Castle Reloaded

One of my dreams is a giant display of Classic Castle full of constructions with the quality and detail of this fantastic tower by ~The Maestro. The tower and the roof are fantastic, but the half-collapsed wall on the left is superb. Castle UCS now!!

Perhaps, the "Castle" theme is one of the most forgotten by LEGO(R). Even with a large number of followers, it is difficult to find attractive sets of this theme, and it is the fans who keep it alive with its incredible creations. And there are a lot fans asking for a Castle UCS set. Today we bring you a small jewel full of details and color, a proof that "Castle" are not just castles and soldiers. Markus Rollbühler is its creator, and his gallery is an authentic delight for the eyes.

Micro Scale Castle in Glass Dome

Throughout my history as a builder I have used the micro scale many times, but the truth is that I have never approached the quality of this creation by Peter Ilmrud. Details like the balloon or the boat fills the scene with dynamism and color, and the alternative use of some of the pieces are a source of inspiration. Locking all that magic inside a dome gives it the charm of the fairy tales, where it isn't strange to find small worlds locked in glass.
